The Scoop 5/12/08
I know an update is well overdue, and those of you who have been
struggling with life not knowing what I possibly could be doing all
these months...I'm sorry. (I think the only one in that category may
be my mom and I spoke to her yesterday, so she should be ok for now.)
1) MY LIFE
Well, my life has changed. I moved back to California, (living close
to SF) decided to get a full time job and did. I am now a financial advisor (and damn good one if I
do say so myself.) I'm enjoying a much more balanced life. I'm loving
work, playing shows, volunteering, rock climbing, running and I
recently started yoga.
I have a show Tuesday in San Francisco with my friend, Chris
Trapper (many of you may have seen us play in Boston, Philly, LA, San
Diego or SF before.) He's amazing and it's always a pleasure to play
with him.

2) FUNDRAISER- PLEASE SUPPORT. I am raising money for RTS (Rape Trauma Services) by running 10K in
this year's Human Race of Silicon Valley. RTS provides confidential
services to children and adults who have been directly or indirectly
hurt by the trauma of sexual abuse, assault, or harassment. RTS is a
vital community resource -- it is the sole agency in San Mateo County
working to prevent and respond to sexual violence.
You can help put an end to sexual violence and support those who have
been hurt by donating to RTS. My team has a goal of raising $10,000;
with your help we can reach this goal. Please use this link
www.active.com/donate/RTS_08 to donate online quickly & securely. You
will receive email confirmation of your donation and RTS will be
notified as soon as you make your donation.
If you would rather send a check please make it payable to "Rape
Trauma Services" and send it to: Rape Trauma Services
Attn: Emily Abrams (Human Race)
1860 El Camino Real, Suite #301
Burlingame, CA 94010
I thank you in advance for your support, and really appreciate your
generosity!!
3) Bread & Roses
Bread & Roses provides free, live, entertainment to people confined
in San Francisco Bay Area institutions. I'm performing once a month at
institutions such as mental institutions, senior centers, and
children's hospitals.
Oh, there's so much more, but I guess this is long enough for now.
Feel free to email me personally and you can update me on your life
and I can update you on mine. Just because I have a "real" job now,
doesn't mean music is out of my life. I've been playing quite a bit
and continue to write songs, it's just a little less intense these
days. I have a life too!
I hope you all are well and look forward to hearing from you.
Lots of Love,
robyn
The Scoop 1/7/08
Happy New Year! I know we say it every year, but seriously 2007 really did go by extremely fast. Welcome to 2008. Hope to see you at Hotel Utah on 1/15. Listening to cynical love songs...what better way to start off the new year?
The Scoop 4.17.07
Yes, I have been in hiding for awhile, but I'm coming out to play!!! Please join me and my band in San Francisco on Thursday, May 31st. We'll be back at Hotel Utah for another big party. Lots to celebrate; a well overdue performance in the bay area with the band (after more than 6 months), my official move back to California and... and... and... my 30th birthday! (maybe keep that big number on the DL) Oh, it's time to celebrate! Bring your friends and let's have a party!
The Scoop 11.9.06
My trip in Europe was fantastic! I played a couple shows in Switzerland and a couple in Holland and loved them all. I even had the opportunity to play with Glen Phillips from 'Toad the Wet Sprocket' while I was in Amsterdam. Considering that 'Walk on the Ocean' was my senior prom theme song, that was really cool! As for what's on the horizon, well..I'll tell ya. I'm moving to San Francisco on Wednesday!!! I'm getting super excited! I'm going to take some time to get to know the city, but I'll be playing locally very soon.
